Stephen Lay has been accused of murdering 48 year old Carol Reeves from Basingstoke in May last year. Suspicion arouse after a blood stained shirt was found in his possession and scratch marks had appeared on his face.

The prosecution alleged that the murder took place after the couple had spent the day together.

Mr Lay denies all allegations as the trial continues.

The Court heard how Matthew Keeley, from Basingstoke, had been given the drugs as a form of payment for renting a car for Nathan Mullens which was then used for a drug run last year. Keeley received six to seven rocks of crack worth £20 each.

The charge of conspiracy with Mullens was dropped as the police failed to identify the driver. This is also why no further action will be taken against Mullens.

Keeley said he was a social user of crack cocaine and admitted to being a heroin addict for five years. He had recently been convicted of shop lifting to feed his addiction. He also has a record of previously possessing cannabis.

Judge J W Dixon concluded that putting him in prison was “not a practical course to take”. He said he was not going to imprison Keeley as he had pleaded guilty, had beaten his addiction to heroin independently, had stable living arrangements and was about to start work.

Keeley was charged a £1000 fine and was told by the judge to consider him self lucky.

A famous quote that comes from the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and links to the award winning rap artist Kanye West as it appears in one of his latest hits “Stronger”- “th-that don’t kill me can only make me stronger”

Does Kanye West consider himself as a superhuman? West has demonstrated great arrogance to the public in several ways and his ego could be linked to Nietsche’s theory about the Übermensch (superhuman/man)

What does everyone else think?

Personally I see Nietzsche’s quote, as it stands alone, as uplifting, motivating and inspiring and I believe many others do too, including Kanye West hence why he has used it in his music.

The fact that the PM has so much power and can effectively do what he likes, regardless to what the public wants, seems very unfair. We do not have a democracy but “an elected dictator”- this to me seemed like a very interesting comment; something which I agree with.
